Our Owner Rachel Hougen started off as a young adult wanting to follow her passion for pastries. After her culinary college education, she became a pastry chef in the area who still wanted a little more sweetness in her life. Taking a chance in July of 2014 and opened Semi-Sweets with help of her family and friends. To this day we make our baked goods in small batches to ensure the best products possible. We take pride in our products and want each order to be better than the last.
We are located in the southwest corner of Flint Farmers Market, which offers a wide variety of vendors from live bands, to local craft vendors, to great local food demonstrations its a great place to be year around.
We participated in the Flint Food Works incubator program that has helped us get started. They provide the commercial kitchen space that we used daily.
In November 2019 she launched the Storefront in Flushing. This building offers a full bakery, retail and classroom (coming in the spring of 2020)
